If you like your Halloween decorations a bit more personal and permanent, check out Dead Girlz Tattoo & Piercing Studio.
Located just south of Chattanooga in Rossville, GA, the Dead Girlz studio is...well, kind of like a haunted house where the performers actually get to hurt you. But in a good way.
From the two custom hearses in the parking lot to the horror-movie props in entryway to the (not actually) blood-stained walls of the “blood room,” Dead Girlz takes its horror-movie motif pretty much as far as it can, while still being a top-notch, super-clean and modern tattoo parlor.
According to Dollie Martin, founder and owner of Dead Girlz, it was her love of zombies and art that lead to the creation of Dead Girlz in 2011. And, as you might expect, zombies and other horror-themed tattoos are very popular with Dead Girlz customers.
Dead Girlz also specializes in tattoos created with ultraviolet (UV) ink. These tattoos aren’t visible under normal light, but appear when seen under UV light (also known as “black light”). That makes them perfect for Halloween (or if you have a career that frowns on visible tattoos).
Dead Girlz also prides itself on giving back to the community. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, so for the entire month of October, you can donate five children’s books (which will be given to T.C. Thompson’s Children’s Hospital) and you’ll get a free Breast Cancer Awareness “Ribbon” tattoo (any color, not just pink).
If you don’t have books to donate, you can also get a free Ribbon tattoo with any other $50 (or more) Halloween-themed tattoo. (And you can even give the free Ribbon to a friend.)
Halloween also happens to be Dead Girlz third anniversary. To celebrate, they’ll be hosting a “Trunk or Treat” event on Halloween from 1 to 5 p.m.
