Spin a yarn at “Tales with a Twist” with ETC and Artisti Affamati
Get a little twisted this week at the Ensemble Theater of Chattanooga with their special production of three shows, together called “Tales with a Twist.” The three pieces are unconventional takes on traditional fables.
Begin with Kaye Rose telling a more classic children’s tale—and then get ready to blow the house down laughing with the hilarious one-act play “Furry Tales with a Twist.” To wrap things up, “The True Story of the Three Little Pigs” is an operatic take on the story of the three little pigs that blends a piano recital and the antics of the three pigs and their wolfish pursuer in some unexpected ways.
The opera is a collaboration between ETC and Artisti Affamati, a local operatic group who selected “The True Story” as the winner of their 2015 competition for one-act operas. The collaboration also celebrates ETC’s new location in Brainerd.
The show goes on Oct. 15, 17, 22, and 24 at 6:30 p.m. in The Highland Center at 104 N. Tuxedo Ave. General admission tickets are $20, senior and student discount tickets are $15, and tickets for children under 12 are $10. Visit artistiaffamati.com for tickets and more information.
