Forty bands hit the stage at Fly Free Fest this weekend
Better clear your calendar for the weekend because the Fly Free Fest is back and the 2014 lineup is spectacular. Not only do we get to see locals like Opposite Box, Danimal Planet, and Smooth Dialects, but the festival also brings in bands like Texas’s The Octopus Project and Colorado’s The Motet.
Already, the musical variety is apparent. We’ve got experimental rock, alternative pop, soul, indie electronic, and straight funk. And that’s just those first five bands. Fly Free Fest is hosting more than 40 artists, and every one is eclectically unique.
“We will create an intimate, sustainable. eclectic environment with diversity of music as the constant them,” explains festival organizer Corey Petree. “Something that sets our festival apart from many is that we try to place as much emphasis on art as we do on music.”
So come out to Cherokee Farms this weekend. The farm is only 45 minutes away from downtown. Kids ages 10 and under get in for free, and students get tickets at a discount. Bring in the fall season with beautiful people and excellent music.
