Revelry Room hosts New Orleans rock hybrid sound
When you first hear the passion of The Revivalists with their seven-member band, it’s hard not to tap your foot. It’s an electrifying sound that sticks with you. Their Americana-style, complete with guitar, drums, pedal steel guitar, bass, saxophone, keyboard, and trumpet comes together with the sultry vocals of frontman David Shaw.
While every song is one to listen to, each one has its own personality. The song “Stand Up” is upbeat and infectious, one you would definitely move to, while songs like “Navigate Below” and “Keep Going” are for those afternoon chill sessions when the day is done and you want to unwind. Their range is vast, covering a whole spectrum of emotions in every new song they produce.
With a sound that could be described as a more refined version of the band Hozier, The Revivalists definitely have a bright future ahead of them with their groovy beats and warm lyrics.
The band will be performing Friday, Oct. 16 at 9 p.m. at the Revelry Room, 41 E. 14th St.. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $15, or at the door for $18. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show is 18 and up. revelryroom.co
