Knights of Columbus Host 72nd Annual Labor Day Picnic
The Knights of Columbus, Council 610 will host their 64th Annual Labor Day Picnic and Family Festival on Sept. 1, at the Camp Columbus Bork Pavilion in Hixson. Camp Columbus is off Hixson Pike near the Golden Gallon in Dallas Bay.
The picnic starts at 9 a.m. with a white elephant booth for yard sale enthusiasts, along with other booths featuring cakes. The picnic will also include live music throughout the day.
The charity bingo game will begin at 2 p.m.
There will also be plenty to eat, with barbequed choices of beef, pork, chicken and ribs, along with potato salad, beans, slaw and bread. Beef and pork barbeque can be purchased in bulk at $7 a pound and ribs at $13 a slab. Additional concessions will feature other foods and beverages. The price for the barbeque meal is $6 for adults and $3 for children.
Prize drawings will include a Grand Prize of a $1,000 savings bond, a $250 savings bond and $75.00 cash.
Tickets for the raffle will be $1 donation each or 12 for a $10 donation.
The picnic is Council 610’s most important fundraiser for the year. These funds support the Council’s charitable activities throughout the year, including its work with children and families in the Chattanooga area.
