The Backlot is a monthly gathering for ALL THINGS FILM – a place for anyone interested in being involved with filmmaking, either behind or in front of the camera.
Artists, musicians, writers, actors and filmmakers (both professional and student) are welcome. The Backlot isn’t a GROUP, but a PLACE, and is open to all. The Backlot provides a comfortable space for both individuals and film groups to meet and network with each other as well as have their own meetings, casting calls, script readings, screenings, etc. in one of our multiple breakout rooms.
In fact, on any particular night, ALL of the above activities may be happening AT THE SAME TIME in the form of a general “meet & greet.”
The lineup for any particular night all depends on who needs to do what and who is attending. Filmmakers are invited to schedule screenings of their works or works in progress for feedback from their fellow film enthusiasts, as well as to possibly recruit people to help them with the various stages of their current project.
The Backlot meets every third Monday of the month, and persons wishing to reserve a room for a film-related activity can do so for FREE by contacting Director Chris Holley at: (423) 855-9474
FREE ADMISSION. Light snacks provided.
