THE GRIDIRON
Ocoee Middle School 2250 North Ocoee Street, Cleveland, Tennessee 37311
presented by MurMaid Mattress & Alpha Gamma Chi. On April 4-6, 2013, the men of Alpha Gamma Chi will break the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous flag football game to raise $86,000 for the Build A City (BAC) project initiated by People for Care and Learning (PCL).
The current Guinness record for longest continuous flag football game is 24 hours. However, we, Alpha Gamma Chi, are working towards April 4th, when we will kick off the game that will do more than double the record, attempting to play 50 straight hours of flag football! As lofty as it sounds, the idea of breaking a record for an important cause is not new to us. Chi has already participated in two record-breaking softball games in order to raise money for March of Dimes (1986) and PCL/Men and Women of Action (2005), both of which consisted of over 100 hours of continuous play. This time the football record is in our sights.
The financial goal for this football game, called THE GRIDIRON, is to raise $86,000 in order to fund the marketplace and health clinic projects in Andong, Cambodia.
