Although the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends exclusive breastfeeding until the age of six months, The CDC’s 2014 Breastfeeding Report Card indicates that only 19% of infants meet that goal in this country. The Milky Way explores the multi-faceted background behind these numbers, and illuminates the current movement of women to empower themselves to reclaim breastfeeding as the normal way to feed their infants.
