Wordpress Workshop: A Beginner's Guide

Society of Work is excited to share the expertise of one of our own- Justin Kropp! Justin will be teaching a three part series intended for those new to WordPress, looking to build an online presence for themselves or their business. This series will cover account creation, domain registration and setup, themes and custom design, plugins, content basics, strategy, and best practices.
WordPress is the most popular content management platform (cms) on the web, powering more than 60 million websites — approximately 22% of the entire web. It is a powerful and flexible cms, used for independent blogs and small businesses to news outlets like CNN and TechCrunch.
Justin Kropp is a designer, teacher, and writer. He currently works as a user experience designer at Automattic, the makers of WordPress, where he designs user interfaces within the context of data analysis and user research. Previously, he was product design lead at Readmill, a Berlin-based startup that built a beautiful ebook reader for iOS and Android that lets you read and share great books.
Justin holds an MFA in Graphic Design from Maryland Institute College of Art, where his research explored semiotic theory and its role in our evolving visual culture.
*Please note this class happens on a weekly basis for 3 consecutive weeks and you will get the most out of the class by being at each class! The class will be a 3-part series on the following dates: 7/7 6-8:30p, 7/14 6-8:30p, and 7/21 6-8:30p.
